Best CBD Store POS Systems in 2026: Real Pricing & Payment Processing

Looking for the best CBD store POS system? We compare nine platforms on published US pricing, high-risk payment processing, age verification and batch and COA tracking, including the tradeoffs each one asks you to accept.

A CBD shop is a retail business wearing a compliance jacket. The counter works like any other; scan, sell, count the stock but the paperwork underneath it does not, because you are holding potency and batch data on every product, verifying age on every sale, and carrying payment processing that can be withdrawn at short notice. That last risk stopped being theoretical this autumn: Square has told sellers to remove CBD and hemp products from their catalogs by 15 October 2026, and the federal definition of hemp itself changes in November.

This guide compares nine systems on published US pricing, how each one handles payments, and which of them actually holds the compliance data you will be asked for. If you want the fundamentals first, our guide to what a pos system does covers them.

1. Vibe Retail

Best for: Independent CBD and hemp shops that want published pricing and a real retail system underneath

Published pricing: Essential $19/month for one register, two users and 100 items. Pro $97/month for unlimited users and items, loyalty, ecommerce and multi-location sync. Card-present from 2.9% + 15c down to 2.5% + 10c.

What stands out: Vibe is a retail platform first, which suits the large majority of CBD shops that are not licensed dispensaries and have no business being sold a seed-to-sale system. Product records carry the detail you need per SKU, stock counts down as it sells, age prompts sit at the till, and pricing is published up front rather than hidden behind a quote. If you also sell vape and smoke, the CBD store POS system page has the detail on this one.

Tradeoffs: Essential at $19 is one register and 100 items, so a real shop is comparing at $97. Vibe does not ship METRC or BioTrack integration - speak to our team today and we guide you on the best approach.

2. Cova

Best for: Shops that want the deepest compliance record and can carry the price

Published pricing: Boutique $349/month and Powerhouse $499/month with Cova Pay, or $389 and $599 without it. Ecommerce is a $199/month add-on, currently promoted at $149. Enterprise is quote-only.

What stands out: The most complete compliance story of any vendor here and the only one that names COAs outright, holding potency, batch data and timestamps at the product record. ID scanning creates a customer profile at the same time, METRC and BioTrack are both supported, and the payments arm is built specifically for high-risk CBD and hemp retail including delta-derived products.

Tradeoffs: It is by some distance the most expensive system on this page, the lower price needs you to take their processing, and the feature set is built for licensed cannabis operators. Most CBD shops will pay for depth they never use. Their own FAQ quotes a $549 tier that does not appear on the pricing page, so get the quote in writing.

3. Lightspeed Retail

Best for: Shops with serious range depth and purchasing to manage

Published pricing: Basic $89/month, Core $149/month, Plus $289/month, each including one register, with up to 18% off annual billing. Lightspeed Payments card-present 1.5%.

What stands out: The strongest pure inventory platform here, with supplier ordering and purchasing analytics better than anything else on the list. ID verification can record scans rather than just prompt, and register rules enforce age and quantity limits at the till.

Tradeoffs: The CBD landing page carries no pricing at all, and the general pricing page warns that additional service fees may apply depending on the nature of the business — which is how a high-risk vertical gets told it will not be paying list price. No METRC, batch or COA handling published.

4. KORONA POS

Best for: Shops that want to keep their own payment processor

Published pricing: Core $59/month, Retail $79/month, Plus $99/month, each per terminal. Modules add $10 to $50 depending on what you need.

What stands out: Processing-agnostic, which in a vertical where merchant accounts get closed at short notice is a genuine risk reducer rather than a marketing line. ID scanning for age verification is standard, per-terminal pricing stays readable as you add tills, and there is no CBD surcharge disclosed.

Tradeoffs: No METRC, batch tracking or COA handling. The interface is functional rather than pleasant, and setup takes more work than the plug-and-play options.

5. ConnectPOS

Best for: Multi-store CBD chains and franchises

Published pricing: Standard $49, Advanced $79 and Premium $99 per register per month, with roughly $10 off each on annual billing. Enterprise is custom.

What stands out: Priced per register rather than per store, which suits a chain of small shops, and the positioning is unusually specific — hemp and CBD specialty retailers, multi-location chains, smoke shops selling CBD, and general retailers with a CBD line. Age gates and sale limits are set at checkout.

Tradeoffs: It connects to compatible high-risk processors rather than offering its own, so you are still sourcing the merchant account yourself. No METRC, batch or COA handling. Per-register pricing scales badly for a busy single store with four tills — our multi-location POS system page explains where that maths turns over.

6. IndicaOnline

Best for: Shops running, or about to run, a licensed line alongside hemp

Published pricing: Core $240/month, Storefront Pro and Delivery Pro $600/month, Ultimate $680/month, all billed annually. Monthly and quarterly billing costs more.

What stands out: A separate CBD and hemp product line rather than a repurposed dispensary system, with two-way METRC integration on the cannabis side and compliance reporting built in.

Tradeoffs: Expensive for a hemp-only shop, and the published prices assume annual billing. Their CBD page quotes a $500 Growth plan that does not appear on the main pricing page, which is worth resolving before you sign anything.

7. Flowhub

Best for: Shops planning a move from CBD into licensed THC

Published pricing: Not published. Flowhub offers an interactive calculator only, with a disclaimer that the estimate is for discussion and is not binding. Cost components are a monthly software fee, service charges, one-time hardware, deposits and onboarding, with 10% off annual prepay.

What stands out: The original METRC integration partner and the most established name here on the cannabis side. Age verification and check-in are handled at the door, and the payments side is built for high-risk retail. If the plan is to add a licensed line later, this is the least painful bridge.

Tradeoffs: No published price at all, which for a shop comparing options is a real cost in time. The CBD positioning is explicitly an on-ramp to THC, so a hemp-only retailer is buying a system pointed somewhere they are not going.

8. Alleaves

Best for: Hemp retailers who want their category kept separate from cannabis

Published pricing: Not published - quote only, and stated as such: the suite is custom-built per operator.

What stands out: The clearest separation of hemp from licensed cannabis of any vendor here, with a dedicated hemp and CBD product line rather than a dispensary system with the label changed. ID scanning supports programmable purchase and age limits, METRC and BioTrack both sync live after each transaction, and expiry dates, product recalls and test results are tracked across the catalog.

Tradeoffs: Quote-only pricing with no published floor, and the wider product is built around cannabis operators. “Test results” is as close as it gets to naming COA handling, so confirm exactly what is stored.

9. Quickvee

Best for: Smoke and vape shops with a CBD line

Published pricing: $0/month with Quickvee Integrated Payments, a single plan, full features, unlimited licences. No processing rates are disclosed.

What stands out: Native ID scanning and age verification rather than a third-party add-on, marketed directly at age-restricted retail, and free at the subscription level.

Tradeoffs: The $0 is conditional on using their payments, so the real cost sits in a processing spread they do not publish — ask for the rate in writing before anything else. No explicit CBD or hemp claim anywhere on the site either; the positioning is smoke, vape and tobacco. No METRC, batch or COA handling.

What to check before you choose CBD pos system

  • Ask who your payment processor actually is, and what happens if they drop you. It is the biggest practical risk in CBD retail and almost nobody warns you about it. Processing-agnostic systems let you switch; bundled ones do not.
  • Work out whether you are a hemp retailer or a licensed operator. If you do not hold a cannabis licence you do not need METRC, and four of the nine systems here are priced as though you do.
  • Ask whether the product record can hold batch, potency and COA data. Only Cova publishes this outright. From November it stops being a nice-to-have.
  • Check age verification logs the scan, not just prompts for it. A prompt is a reminder; a log is evidence.
  • Get every quoted price in writing. Two vendors on this page contradict their own websites, and four publish nothing at all.
  • Confirm CBD is allowed on the platform before you migrate. Square has told sellers to remove CBD and hemp products by 15 October 2026. Check the acceptable use policy, not the sales call.

What it actually costs

Published software runs from $0 to $680 a month, and the spread is wider than in any other retail vertical because half this market is priced for licensed cannabis operators rather than shops. Most hemp-only retailers should be looking at $50 to $150. Payment processing is the number that decides it: CBD is treated as high risk, so expect rates above standard card-present retail, often with a rolling reserve, and budget for the possibility of having to move processor at short notice.

Four vendors on this page publish no price at all. Vibe Retail starts at $19 a month for a single register, with multi-location and ecommerce on the $97 Pro tier.
